I would like to add what we know about the Lougheed
connection coming from Sligo, Ireland. According to our
information, a couple of brothers and cousins visited Canada
in approx 1820's. They returned to Ireland where they
decided it would be advantageous to emmigrate to Canada. In
1831, Hugh Lougheed and his wife Alice Lyttle (my
ancestors), James Lougheed (Etobicoke Jim), Robert, Joseph,
John and Thomas. We show Hugh's sister Jane Lougheed and her
husband John Knott came to Canada in 1844. My father and I
are more than willing to share any information we can with
anyone interested. Please contact me at M.Lougheed@aci.on.ca

Some of the Lougheed's/Loughead's claim that they had information passed down
through the generations that they originally came from the Isle of Skye and
the west coast of Scotland.
